A measurement error of millimetres — a loss counted in thousands
Racks installed on uncertain ground or staked without surveying quickly lose verticality, build up structural stress and fail inspections. The cost of correcting a problem after installation is many times the cost of measuring before it.
Uneven floor = rack out of plumb
Even a 5 mm deviation per metre of floor translates into tens of centimetres of lean at the top of a high-bay rack. That disqualifies the installation at the first PN-EN inspection.
Incorrect axis staking blocks installation
Rack axes staked without surveying equipment often don’t match the design — the result is a layout change mid-installation, extra cost and a delayed warehouse start-up.
No survey documentation at handover
Industrial and warehouse investments require a survey report for the building handover and registration in the land registry. Without it, the handover of the entire project is blocked.
Unknown ground bearing capacity = risk during expansion
Without up-to-date data on floor geometry and ground bearing capacity, every expansion of the racking system is done blindly — risking overloading and costly foundation repairs.

We analyse the design, warehouse layout plan and client requirements. We establish control points, measurement scope and the target documentation format — whether that is a design-purpose map, a survey report, or a working report for the installation team.

A surveyor with a total station carries out measurements to ±1 mm accuracy. Depending on scope: floor flatness check, rack axis staking, as-built inventory or staking of foundation bolt positions for rack uprights.

We process the results in DWG/PDF formats and deliver the complete survey report together with the measurement record. The documentation is ready for submission to the local authority, archiving or handover to the installation team.

Frequently asked questions about surveying
For standard pallet racking it is not formally required, but it is strongly recommended — floor defects discovered after installation lead to costly remediation. For high-bay storage systems (SILO, stacker cranes) and very narrow aisle (VNA) systems, floor control to EN 15620 / DIN 15185 is mandatory and a condition of the equipment manufacturer’s warranty.
A standard warehouse up to 5,000 m² takes 1 working day on site. Warehouses above 10,000 m² or with complex geometry require 2–3 days. We deliver the measurement report within 2–3 working days after fieldwork is complete.
A design-purpose map shows the state of the site BEFORE the investment and is the basis for obtaining a building permit. An as-built inventory documents the state AFTER works are complete — it is required for the building handover and registration of changes in the land and building registry. Both must be signed by a licensed surveyor.
We deliver maps in DWG (AutoCAD) and PDF format, coordinate listings in CSV/XLS, and field sketches and calculations in PDF. On request we can prepare data in a format compatible with specific design software (e.g. Revit, ArchiCAD) — please specify this when placing your order.
Yes, in most cases. Floor measurement and axis staking require specific zones to be cleared during the work — typically 2–4 hours per section. We agree a schedule with the client to minimise disruption to operations. Work can be carried out at night or at weekends.
We carry out commissions across Poland and in selected EU countries — primarily Germany, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands, where we also handle installation projects. International commissions are quoted individually, taking into account local legal requirements for survey reports.
